Three-layer blocking

Most app blockers use a browser extension or the Screen Time API. Both are easy to bypass. Sloth blocks at the DNS level (hosts file), the network level (packet filter firewall), and the browser level (tab redirect). Switching browsers, going incognito, or using iCloud Private Relay won't help.

Locked sessions

When you lock a blocking session, Sloth's root-level daemon refuses all stop commands until the timer runs out. Quitting the app doesn't help. The daemon runs independently. This is the feature that separates Sloth from every other blocker.

Schedules and daily budgets

Block social media every weekday 9-5 automatically. Or give yourself 20 minutes of Twitter per day. Once you hit the limit, the site is blocked until tomorrow. Set it once, and Sloth handles it every day.

Every browser, one app

Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, and any other browser. Sloth blocks at the operating system level, below all browsers. No extensions to install. No per-browser configuration.

$29 once. Not $99/year.

Most app blockers charge a subscription. Freedom is $40/year. Opal is $100/year. Sloth is a one-time $29 purchase. All updates included. No account needed. Everything runs locally on your Mac.
