website blocker for mac

block websites on Mac. for real.

not a chrome extension. not Screen Time. sloth blocks at the system level so every browser is blocked and you can't cheat.

get sloth for $29

one-time payment. no subscription. no account.

Why other website blockers don't work

Chrome extensions can be disabled in 5 seconds. Screen Time only works in Safari and has an "Ignore Limit" button. Most blockers stop when you quit the app. If there's a way around it, you'll find it at 2 PM when your willpower is gone.

How Sloth is different

Sloth runs a privileged daemon with root access that blocks websites at three levels. DNS hosts file makes the domain unresolvable. Packet filter firewall blocks the server IPs. Browser redirect catches any remaining attempts. All three layers active simultaneously, across every browser.
